Philosophy of Science
midterm exam format

The midterm exam will include:

• multiple choice questions (5)
• true/false questions (7)
• fill in the blank questions, with a "well" of words and phrases to choose from to complete the sentences (although there will be more words and phrases than there are blanks to fill) (7)
• "short answer" questions (answer in a few sentences) (7)
• one "scientific reasoning" item (see midterm review for an example)
• fill in the label (given a diagram or flowchart of a particular philosopher's account of science) (1)

While this is a closed-book exam, you are allowed to prepare a single page (8.5" by 11", both sides) of notes to use during the exam.

You do not need to bring blue books or scantron forms.
