Title: Opposites              Author/Illustrator:  Sandra Boynton                       Publisher:  Little Simon

Synopsis:  Various wild and domesticated animals help show that the world is full of dichotomies.

Readability:  Great fun for parents.  Simple text, which rhymes, and which seems to encourage using a range of funny voices.
Very entertaining for Chloe.  She likes the rhymes and the funny voices.
A pretty easy book to read when Chloe is active and turning pages herself, since the text is relatively simple.  The pictures are good clues when you can't see the words through Chloe, and the rhyme scheme means you've got the text memorized by the third reading.

Visual Appeal (i.e., how entrancing Chloe finds it while turning the pages herself with nothing read to her):
Excellent.  Cute animal drawing which are easy to interpret as animals.  Pleasing colors.

Tooth-appeal:  Gnawed.  Chloe shows a preference for the page corners over the binding on this one.
